Disaster Recovery

If an organisation such as Tesco is targeted by malicious software or crashes its servers then customers will not be able to shop using Teso's E-commerce website and will lose out on profits. In order to keep damage caused by a system crash at a minimal Disaster Recovery steps are put in place to get the system up as quick as possible (often 3-4 hours). Often organisations like Tesco have a contract with contract organisation who send over contractors to fix the problem. Contract Organisation will have a terms and areements that they must follow, for instance whenever Tesco servers crash, they must be up and running within 3-4 hourse otherwise the Contract Organisation must pay Tesco untill the system is back up.

However Tesco have to take a couple of actions in anticipation of such an event taking place.
